Deidre Hackman studied costume design as part of her Clothing and Textiles degree from the University of Alberta, then continued on to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.  SINCE 2001, Hackman has led global design & innovation teams for NIKE, SPEEDO, Victoria’s Secret, MEXX and SPYDER. 

 Known for her world class skills in trend forecasting and design, Hackman has worked with Disney and Marvel to develop award winning licensing programs and consumer products.

 Hackman’s  return to Canada in her role as Costume designer for THEY WHO SURROUND US, was a true delight to celebrate her Ukrainian heritage and love for period costuming: tapping in to her design skills
